This is an album that’s loaded with killer songs, including performances from two of the best performers in extreme metal, in bassist Dan Lilker and vocalist Kevin Sharp (who is also credited with power tools on this album). Combining a sense of humour with a keen social awareness, Extreme Conditions… is an album every bit as relevant now as it was upon release.

Album of the Day: Insect Warfare – World Extermination

I’m not saying that World Extermination is a perfect album. I might say that the final album (to date) by Insect Warfare is an almost-unrivaled example of how devastating old-school grind can be with a modern production and a few noise elements; of how few albums can seem so energetically exciting ten years after release, whilst also being musically impressive; or how practically no other modern grind band has packed so much in to so short an album. You might say those things, and you’d be absolutely right.
